Suggested Itinerary

York and the surrounding areas offer a great selection of activities for students to enjoy, both subject related, educational and leisure based! Bursting with history the city has been shaped by Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and Normans giving school groups plenty to do. Although our trips are tailored to your group, below is a sample itinerary which is a popular choice for primary groups.

Depart from your school in the morning and head towards York by coach. En route your group will stop off to stretch your legs in the coastal town of Whitby where you can explore the harbour and enjoy some world-famous Whitby fish and chips! Board the coach after your seaside stop off and continue on to York. Arrive at your accommodation and check into your rooms, depending on the time you may also have some free time before your evening meal.

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation and collect your groups packed lunches for the day ahead. Travel over to Jorvik Viking Centre and DIG York, where your group can step back in time to see one of York’s many historic forms. Break for a spot of lunch and enjoy some free time to explore York’s cobbled streets. Following this you will have two afternoon visits to Clifford’s Tower and York Dungeon, followed by an evening meal at your accommodation. Why not explore York’s ghostly goings on with an evening Ghost walk?

Breakfast will be served in your accommodation and you will once again collect your groups packed lunches. Today your morning will consist of two fantastic visits, The York Minster and York Castle Museum. After exploring these two fantastic sites your group will break for some lunch and one last explore of the beautiful city before boarding the coach for your return journey to school.
