The Whitney museum, also known as ‘the Whitney’, is located at 945 Madison Avenue at 75th Street in NYC. The museum focuses on the 20th and 21st century American art, their collection includes: paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, installation art, video and photography. The collection contains more than 18,000 works in a wide variety of media. The museum hosts an annual exhibition which focuses on young and less well-known artists. This is the perfect museum to inspire your art students.
