Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven)
Located roughly 2 hours outside of Central Amsterdam is the Van Abbemuseum of Contemporary and Modern Art.
Opening in 1936 the Van Abbemuseum was one of the first museums for contemporary art to be opened in Europe and has since proven itself as a fantastic representation of works from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The museum boasts a collection of roughly 2700 works, including pieces by Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Jan Sluijters, Isaac Israëls and Piet Mondrian. The collection is displayed alongside informative pieces, which are tailored to educate visitors about the cultural significance of the pieces and encourage visitors to acknowledge art’s place in the world.
The atmosphere, collection and information at the museum is sure to capture your students’ imagination and inspire them in future work of their own.
