The Cartoon Museum
The cartoon museum opened its doors again in July 2019, after a re-launch which saw it move to a new home at Wells Lane in London. This unique museum documents the history of cartoons and their uses from political use to comic books and newspaper ‘funnies’. The museum’s key vision is to document the cultural and social relevance and importance of cartooning as an art form throughout history, from the 18th century to contemporary examples. As well as preserving the history and heritage of cartoons and comics the museum also supports current works by working cartoon and comic artists. It also provides encouragement for those wishing to pursue this artform, which may be of particular interest to students within your groups who may be exploring creative career options.
