To visit the Tenement museum your students will be educated on the story of 97 Orchard Street, built on Manhattans Lower East side in 1863. It was home to nearly 7000 working class immigrants between the years of 1863 and 1935. Your students will be given a guided tour of apartments that recreate immigrant life; the tour offers an insight into the current debates about immigration and public health.
