Space Expo (Noordwijk)

Space Expo is the official visitor centre of ESA ESTEC, located in Noordwijk. Students will explore the fascinating world of space travel—from the design and building of missions on Earth to live demonstrations and exhibitions of real space-artifacts. Highlights include a 1:1 scale model of the International Space Station, André Kuipers’ original Soyuz capsule, a real moon rock, and the European Robotic Arm test model the Netherlands has contributed to. Interactive exhibits allow pupils to “go on a mission” themselves, using clean-room style design labs, touch tables with satellite data, and displays on the history and future of space exploration.
The museum’s goal is to teach people about the importance of space flight and preserve the legacy and importance of research and developments in space travel. Throughout the immersive, engaging and interactive experiences your students will develop an understanding for the fascinating world of space exploration and the benefits it possesses for us. Amongst the most popular attractions at the facility are the interactive model of the International Space Station and the scale re-enactment of the moon landing.
While in the area your group can add additional tours on at the European Space Agency’s European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESA ESTEC) where students can discover exactly what The ESA does touching on topics such as research, Lunar exploration, 3D printing and much, much, more!
