The South Shore Adventure takes your group on a drive along Iceland’s spectacular south coast, taking in some of its best features.  Visit Hveragerði with its geothermal greenhouses (entrance fees apply) before passing Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull and making a stop at the glacier snout of the Sólheimajökull glacier. The Sólheimajökull glacier tongue extends from the great Mýrdalsjökull glacier, down to the sandy plains of the Icelandic south coast. It’s possible to walk over the glacier forefield to get a closer look at the glacier snout ('Glacier Hike add-on').  Visit two amazing waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss.  At  Seljalandsfoss waterfall you can walk behind it and through to the other side. The much photographed Skógafoss waterfall, has an impressive 60 m drop (196 ft). You will also stop off at the black sand beaches at Dryholaey and view the cliff line and coastal features including, arches, stacks and stumps. Head on to the remote village of Vik before returning along the coast back to Reykjavik.

You can also choose to add in a visit to the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano Visitor centre, to learn more about the 2010 eruption. You can also add on a glacier walk to your visit to Sólheimajökull glacier.   A visit to Skógar Folk Museum is also another additional add-on.

This add-on is available as part of package tour with Adaptable Travel. Note, we do not offer daytrips.
