San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Art

The Royal Academy is home to many valuable works that include masterpieces in Spanish, Italian and Flemish art from the 16th-19th century. Amongsts its collection are paintings by artists such as Goya, Zurbarán, Ribera, Leandro Bassano, Rubens, Mengs, Van Loo, Madrazo, Velázquez, Haes, Sorolla, Juan Gris and many more. Second to paintings the academy also houses a number of examples of fine sculpture, with works by Manuel Pereira, Pedro de Mena, Mariano Benlliure, Picasso and Pablo Gargallo to name a few. The academy also boasts a number of fine drawings within its collection, allowing students of all disciplines discover inspiration of their own during this visit.
