The River Fowey and estuary is one of the biggest river catchments in South Cornwall, promising an abundance of opportunities for learning and exploration. Whether investigating the local wildlife and eco-system, running self-led case studies and discovery sessions or exploring topics like fluvial studies or land management this visit is packed with activities. With a drainage area of roughly 177.5km ² from both central and southern Bodmin Moor, students can understand the lifecycle of a river of this size and the impact of a river on surrounding land areas.
