Paul Durham - Guide
Battlefield school trips guide.
Paul served with the police for 30 years, retiring as a Detective Superintendent, before retraining as a primary school teacher; a position he held for 6 years before taking his second retirement, in 2023.
His interest in military history dates back to his school years, and like many others, he was motivated to research his own family's military history: something which has only fuelled his passion for the First World War. He has been a regular visitor to the battlefields - primarily of the Western Front - for over 20 years, and began guiding in 2015. He has since conducted a number of tours for Adaptable Travel, as well as leading his own.
In addition, Paul has researched many soldiers on behalf of clients, and has recently written articles for a First World War publication. He plans to expand both of these areas in the future.
Paul's first tour with Adaptable Travel was in 2022, and he is determined to keep the stories of those men who fought in the Great War alive, by educating others through his own knowledge and expertise.
