The National Theatre offers two excellent educational tours for school groups: the School Tour and the Career in Action Tour.

The School Tour (Recommended for Year 7-10 // KS3) provides an engaging exploration of the National Theatre's iconic building. Students will have the chance to see the stages, costume and set design areas, and learn about the different roles that contribute to bringing a production to life. This tour is ideal for those studying drama, theatre production, or arts education, as it provides a practical understanding of how a professional theatre operates.

The Career in Action Tour (Recommended for Year 10-12 // KS4) focuses on the career pathways within the theatre industry. Students will meet professionals who work in various departments, including design, lighting, sound, and stage management. This tour offers valuable insights into the variety of roles available in the arts and how students can pursue a career in the creative industries.

Both tours are led by knowledgeable guides who engage students with interactive discussions and activities, encouraging questions and reflection on what they see. The tours are suitable for students of all ages and can be tailored to specific learning objectives.

These experiences provide an excellent opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning with real-world applications, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the theatre and potential career opportunities in the arts.
