Located in a former palace, the National Museum of Ancient Art opened in 1884 and houses many arts from painting, sculpture, metalwork, textiles, furniture and drawings. A lot of the art has strong historical and cultural references to Portuguese art and way of life. Definitely an interesting visit for you and your students.
