Lava Caving
Show all photos
What better way is there to understand how Iceland was created than to go underground and explore the hidden world under a lava field! All year round it is possible to visit the Leiðarendi Cave in the Blue Mountains. The Leiðarendi cave is a perfect example of an Icelandic lava tube and offers a unique experience. Students will see the magical rock formations left behind in the last volcanic eruption. In summer it is also possible to visit the Thingvellir National Park and explore Gjabakkahellir cave.
