Established in 1988 and dedicated to peace, the Caen Peace Museum is regarded by many as the best World War II museum in France. Located on the northern outskirts of Caen in Normandy, Caen Peace Museum effectively puts the battle of Normandy in a broader context and traces the enigmatic dream of peace through the twentieth century from 1918 to 2001 including exhibitions on the Cold War and the September 9/11 terrorist attacks.
