Home to a collection of sculptures dating from the 16th century to 18th century, Boboli Gardens is a park situated in Florence just behind the Pitti Palace. Some of the first and most familiar formal 16th century Italian gardens, the Boboli Gardens were originally laid out for Eleonora di Toledo, the wife of Cosimo I de' Medici, the first stages of the garden were scarcely begun by Niccolò Tribolo before he died in 1550. His work was then continued by Bartolomeo Ammanati.
