Science Discovered speaker Simon Watt explores the perils facing the world's largest carnivore!
The Bafta award winning series “Inside Nature’s Giants” returned to our screens last night with a feature-length Arctic special about Polar Bear’s featuring Science Discovered speaker Simon Watt.
Braving blizzards, freezing seas and temperatures that can plummet to -70, Science Discovered's very own Simon Watt and the Inside Nature’s Giants team joined an international scientific expedition in search of the world’s largest Carnivore the Polar bear.
The documentary, aired on channel 4, investigated the plight of polar bears and explored the many mysteries surrounding the creature’s survival in an increasingly precarious environment. Specifically, Science Discovered speaker Simon Watt crawled inside a recently evacuated polar bear den and helped trace the Polar Bear’s remarkable evolutionary story.
Nominated for a Famelab award, Simon Watt is the evolutionary biologist on Inside Nature's Giants, tasked with being the guinea pig in various experiments to demonstrate the extreme physiological challenges animals face. Regularly appearing on TV and radio Simon is a rising star in science communication, specialising in communicating biology theories to schools and am pleased to say he will be sharing his theories at Adaptable Travel’s educational event Science Discovered.
If you would like to take a school trip to see this truly inspirational speaker and rising star along with BBC Wonders of the Universe Star Professor Brian Cox and Steve Mould why not contact us for more information about Science Discovered.
