Olympic Bang Created in Science Class

Science pupils have been discovering the science behind becoming an Olympic or Para-Olympic athlete.

Pupils at the Sittingbourne Community College have use a mixture of glucose, candles and oxygen to mimic the effects respiration on an athletes body during energy release.

A professional engineer has been on hand to help pupils discover the explosive impacts, in a move funded by the Royal Society Partnership Grants project. The school pupils have been developing moving limbs and examining the impacts on the body of competing in the Olympics.

Adaptable Travel are offering a unique opportunity to visit the 2012 Olympic sites, combining a range of curriculum interests with an inspirational trip to see the 2012 Olympic sites in development.
