125th Wimbledon begins- you cannot be serious!

As the 125th Wimbledon Championships get under way this week why not inspire your students to be the next Andy Murray or even Raphael Nadal by taking them on a school trip to London to see the home of lawn tennis and what many consider to be the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world.

Taking place over two weeks in late June and early July in London, Wimbledon is one of four grand slam tennis tournaments, the other three majors being the US open held in New York, the French Open held in Paris and the Australian Open held in Melbourne.

Wimbledon is a place where traditions are challenged but never forgotten, where the greats have been crowned and where even Sir Cliff Richard has entertained the crowds during rain delays. A school trip to London and the Lawn Tennis Wimbledon Museum will allow pupils to examine legendary rivalries between the likes of Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who have contributed to some unforgettable moments on the famous centre court of Wimbledon.
