Since its rise to prominence as Asia's first megacity, Tokyo has emerged as the post-modern monolith of the 21st century, so where better to take your pupils on their next school trip.

Sci-fi novelist William Gibson described Tokyo as "the global imagination's default setting for the future." Inspiring the stark neon background for the film Blade Runner, Tokyo continues to redefine itself and with it the whole notion of the modern city. The city has no center, no master plan and is not segregated according to class or economies of scale. And while extravagant fits of modernist architecture left a distinct mark on the Tokyo of the 20th century, the Tokyo of the future is feted to become a post-modern cyberspace beyond spatial definition.

This was a really good trip our students enjoyed Tokyo.

The only issues from my side was the lack of flexibility in changing meals, our vegetarian students were often told they couldn't sit with there friends which was upsetting for them.

Our guide at times was abrupt and rude towards staff I feel the communication boundary was difficult and she wasn't coping with the students questions very well. Students were often frustrated when the guide walked extra slow when they walked in front of her. She was always on time and prompt.

At the Panasonic centre the guide told us the 3rd floor was closed which was the main reason we wanted to visit this attraction after asking at the desk my self why it was closed it wasn't. You had to book in advance, which was disappointing.

At the science and innovation museum staff received different tickets to the students which prevented them in entering the exhibition at the bottom floor. There was no age restriction it just cost more so I would like to no why students did not receive the same tickets as us many of the students were upset about this and had to purchase another ticket.

The hotel was wonderful and the food in the hotel was excellent. Overall a really good trip. BA were an excellent airline and very good with our students.

Fabulous tour - with hindsight I'd make adjustments to the tour itinerary but that is to be expected for a first time tour!
