Study Trips to Iceland

If you are looking for your next geography trip, why not consider Iceland, the Land of Fire and Ice on a bespoke study trip with Adaptable Travel

Located on the mid-Atlantic ridge at the meeting point of the Eurasian and North American plates, Iceland provides a window into divergent plate tectonics and it’s associated geological processes and landforms. Also, its northern position and geography means that 11% of the land is covered by glaciers lending to the study of glacial processes and landforms along with case studies of eruption-induced glacial flooding. Iceland is a geography teachers dream open air classroom.

There has never been a better time to visit this mysterious, yet beautiful and enticing country, with great travel links from the UK, Iceland is now more accessible to school groups than ever before. When planning your next geography trip with Adaptable, you will work closely with our resident geography expert Julie Webb (BSc Hons Geography), to develop your perfect geography itinerary.

Contact Adaptable Travel today to start working with Julie to plan your group’s once in a lifetime experience to Iceland – the Land of Fire and Ice.

This is our third year with Adaptable Travel and it was another very successful trip. We had an amazing time.

We saw the Northern Lights, the students were so excited and enamoured with Blue Lagoon and all the other amazing tourist sites we went to. The Glacier Hike was tough yet awe inspiring too.

Our itinerary was tight and I would in future ensure there was a little bit less rushing around, we had two pupils who found it a really demanding trip and perhaps in future I will ensure that Gatwick Flights; Geographically these are more suitable for our needs are obtained.

All pupils had a wonderful time as did the staff and would like to thank our amazing tour guide Gudlaug Jonsdottir for her constant support for us when we were there.
