Adaptable Travel can tailor make an itinerary based around the needs of your group, but below is a popular itinerary art and design groups have chosen for their school trip to Bilbao.

DAY 1

Fly from UK (flights available from a number of regional airports with low-cost airlines) to the Cantabria region of Spain (again, there are a number of airports in the region all of which are suitable).  Transfer to your accommodation in Bilbao, with free afternoon and evening meal.

DAY 2

After breakfast at accommodation, today you will spend your day in Bilbao, much of which you will explore the world famous Guggenheim Museum.  Many groups spend most of their day in Bilbao, however you may decide to spend some time in Bilbao itself, taking in the city sights, shopping and soaking up the culture, or indeed visiting the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum.

DAY 3

Today you will embark on a day trip to Santillana del Mar for free time to explore this rural northern town with cobbled streets, and historic buildings dating back thousands of years.  After lunch you will visit Altamira Caves, UNESCO World Heritage Site with cave paintings dating back 19,000 years.  After this you should have time to visit the coastal town of Comillas and beaches.  Return to accommodation for an evening meal.

DAY 4

After breakfast, you will visit the city of Santander for free time to explore the city.  Visit the Magdalena Peninsula, the Royal Palace, the mini-zoo, the boats of Vital Alsar & the Palacio de la Magdalena.  In the evening Adaptable Travel can also organise a Tapas evening for your students to truly embrace the local culture.

Day 5

Breakfast at accommodation before return airport transfer and return flight to the UK.  Depending on flight times, you may have more free time in Bilbao.

Adaptable Travel can tailor make an itinerary based around your exact requirements including longer or shorter durations as required.  Contact Adaptable Travel today to start organising your next school trip to Spain.
