Taking pupils on a school trip can inspire them to go onto a wide range of careers. A recent interview has highlighted this when Olympian Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards revealed he picked up his passion for skiing on a school trip.

Eddie originally wanted to be a downhill skier, but realised that ski jumping offered what was then an easier route to the national team. Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards was Britain’s first Olympic ski jumper in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, and arguably the most famous winter Olympian ever.
