A primary school in Leyton has been nominated for a national award in recognition of its learning outside the classroom achievments.
The Learning Outside the Classroom Award for Excellence and Innovation look set to be awarded to Riverley Primary School for the schools excellent provision in learning outside the classroom, on numerous innovative school trips.
The school put themselves forward for the award as they believe that regularly involving all their pupils in school trips has enhanced their learning.
Assistant Head Ragini Hildreth states that the school trips fit in with topics the children are studying such as a trip to the Ragged School Museum for children learning about the Victorians.
She added “They can see and feel and experience things and benefit from them".
