27th August 2009
Today saw another year of record GCSE results in England and Wales. Overall, there was an increase of 0.9%, to 21.6%, of entrants gaining A or A* grades.

On the downside, there was a slight decrease in the number of A-C grades awarded in English for the first time in eight years. However, this could not detract from another great GCSE results day across the year.
