Science Discovered, the unique Key Stage 3-4 science event from Adaptable Travel took place this week with huge success.

Over 700 UK school and college students from across the UK travelled to London for this two day event.  This fantastic, unique triple science event starring Professor Brian Cox, Professor Andrea Sella and Simon Watt, was held at The O2 in London.  Students visited the Science Museum on day one and followed this by live seminars from some of the leading UK scientists on day two.  Simon Watt kicked off the day with ‘Dissections Uncut’ with exerts and explanations of the science from his adventures presenting Channel 4s Inside Nature’s Giants.

This was followed by Professor Andrea Sella, one of Europe’s leading chemists, who described ‘how the tiger got its stripes’ from a chemistry perspective, with some amazing live experiments showing oscillating reactions live on stage, that got the crowd intrigued.

Then the keynote speaker arrived – Professor Brian Cox, star of the BBC ‘Wonders’ series.  Brian Cox held a fascinating seminar on ‘big science’, CERN, and even gave a sneak preview into some of his work on the upcoming, previously unseen BBC ‘Wonders of Life’ series.
