School trips to London will now have the opportunity to cross the River Thames by the new Emirates Air Line cable car.

Built in time for London 2012 Olympics, on your school trip to London you will find the Emirates Air Line is a quick way to cross from The O2, to the Royal Docklands and the Excel.  In total, the 34 gondolas will transport up to 2,500 passengers per hour across the river ,on the 5 minute journey across the 1.6km River Thames crossing.  Riders will travel 160 feet above the river in eye catching gondolas, which are seen as a vital cross-Thames link.

The Emirates Air Line is the first urban cable car system of its kind in the UK, and as well as offering a quick connection across the River Thames, it offers a unique perspective on the London skyline on your next school trip to London.  London Mayor, Boris Johnson commented “Gliding serenely through the air across the Thames will provide a truly sublime, bird's eye view of our wonderful city”.

On your school trip to London, why not combine a Thames River Cruise with a ride on the Emirates Air Line cable car, creating an amazing way for your pupils to see the London landmarks.

There are many ways to get unique views of the London skyline, including the London Eye, The Orbit in the London 2012 Park, and also the recently opened ‘Up at The O2’, which allows you to climb up and over the top of The O2.

Adaptable Travel strongly recommend adding one of these great excursions to your school trip to London, offering a unique, unforgettable way to see London.
